Description:

At National Geographic, we worked within their Django-based CMS to create pages that display media prepared by other departments. Additionally, a key task was the creation of a landing page for the multimedia section for the education department. To conclude the internship, I developed a proposal for changes to their CMS–increasing their efficiency by focusing on the user experience of employees operating within the system.

Description:

For The Thirty Mile Zone I selected a Wordpress backend for easy posting of the shows new episodes. We also incorporated social media into the site because the series success largely rested on easy discussion and sharing to promote the series. The site's design centers around displaying the episode while trying to minimize features of the site that might otherwise be distracting to its core content.

Description:

The architect client for this site had a specific design already in mind that we worked to implement. I utilized a combination of AJAX and jQuery techniques to achieve to achieve clean transitions and loading she desired. The tech-savy client requested an approach that could be managed without a CMS. Using PHP, I created a series of include files that separated out the pieces she would need to edit, such as descriptions, captions, and images.

The goal for this project was an interactive method of displaying data. My solution relied heavily on the use of jQuery for animations and conditional statements. I sought to display, in a visually pleasing manner, only the data that the user was seeking, as opposed to the clutter often associated with large amounts of data.

Description:

A foray into the world of flash, this app was made as a proof of concept. I wanted to demonstrate that I could successfully create a program in flash that could be bundled as an iPhone application. This flash creation utilizes both timeline animations as well as ActionScript3 programming.
